NISU undertakes benchmarking visits to WVSU, ISAT-U

 
 
Northern Iloilo State University (NISU), through the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA), undertook benchmarking visits to West Visayas State University (WVSU) and Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) to gather best practices in curriculum and instruction operations, particularly on the Individual Performance Commitment and Review (IPCR) and Office Performance Commitment and Review (OPCR) systems held on July 23 and 28, 2026.
 
During the July 23 WVSU benchmarking visit, the NISU delegation was led by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Gilda E. Deguma with Dr. Maribel B. Dunton, dean of the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM); Dr. Wilson V. Llegunas, dean of the College of Agriculture (COA); Dr. Rosario P. Noderama, Campus Director for Curriculum & Instruction (CDCI) of NISU in Sara; Dr. April Aura A. Cacho, CDCI of NISU in Lemery; Dr. Kaye C. Jardenil, Program Chair of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT); and Mrs. Julienne Faith A. Villafuerte, OVPAA staff.
 
The delegation was welcomed by WVSU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Ma. Asunción Christine Dequilla and Dr. Alona Belarga, Director for Development, Innovation and Quality Assurance (DIQA).
 
The benchmarking activity also aimed to gather insights into curriculum development, instructional management, and related academic processes that may serve as references in strengthening NISU’s academic programs and services.
 
Moreover, on July 28, the university continued its benchmarking initiative at Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U). The delegation was again headed by Dr. Deguma with Dr. Felicisimo V. Wenceslao Jr., dean of the College of Information and Computing Sciences (CICS); Dr. Maribel B. Dunton; Dr. Rosario P. Noderama; Dr. Sheila Mae O. Cantara, Program Chair of AB Economics; and Mrs. Julienne Faith A. Villafuerte.
The NISU delegation was received by Dr. Corazon Corbal (VPAA), Dr. Rosana Lorio (Director for Benchmarking Activities), Ms. Nelfa Ampatuan (SAO), Dr. Junifer Badoles (VPAF), & Dr. Maria Theresa Carbon (DI).
