Promoting transparency and participatory governance, Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) conducted the Campus-Level Budget Review and Internal Presentation of Draft Budget Proposals for Academic Year 2027 on July 10, 2026, at the NISU Main Campus Conference Hall.

 

Representatives from university offices, student organizations, and college-based organizations presented their proposed budget allocations during the review. Faculty members and student representatives participated in the deliberations to promote transparency, collaboration, and accountability in the allocation of university funds.

 

Dr. Veminrose A. Clariza-Samuel, Campus Administrator of NISU Estancia, explained that the administration has adopted a transparent and collaborative approach to budget preparation by involving offices, units, and student organizations in the planning process. She noted that the initiative promotes accountability, considers stakeholders' recommendations, and helps address concerns regarding budget allocations.

 

“When we are transparent, we eliminate doubts. When we eliminate doubts, we eliminate sang faction among and disagreements, most of all, among members of the academic community”, Dr. Clariza Samuel stressed.

 

Clariza-Samuel also said the university is prioritizing budget allocations for faculty and student training, emphasizing that professional development enhances service delivery and improves the overall quality of education. She added that limited training opportunities in previous years prompted the administration to increase investments in capacity-building.

 

She further explained that the administration plans to reduce unnecessary spending on supplies and other non-essential expenditures and direct the savings to training programs and seminars. The initiative, she said, aims to maximize the impact of university funds while supporting the institution's long-term development.
